Shame about what you said, what you did, what you didn't do, what was done to you - it lives and grows in tucked away reaches of our minds and bodies. Shame is like a wound, when left covered and unattended it festers. Find a way to speak your shame, ideally to someone who is kind and understanding, but even saying it aloud can help dissolve some of its power.
